I am originally from Omaha, NE. I received my B.A. in History and Political Science from Beloit College (2010) and my M.A. in History from the University of Iowa (2013). My research interests center on gender, the U.S. in a global context, empire, and colonialism. My dissertation focuses specifically on issues of race and gender as they pertain to the U.S. colonization of the Philippines.
