Heather Cooper's research focuses on 19th Century African American History. She is currently at work on her dissertation, "Representing the Race: African American Performance of Slavery and Freedom in the 19th Century."
Heather received her B.A. in English Literature from San Francisco State University (2005) and her M.A. in History from the University of Iowa (2008).
