Jacob Altman's research focuses on the history of U.S. labor movements. He is currently at work on his dissertation, “Brought Down From the Mountain: Personal and Political Transformations in an Era of Depression and Reform, 1930s-50s.”

Jacob received his B.A. in History from Loras College (2008) and his M.A. in History from the University of Iowa (2010).
